Ramadan fasting stops the English Premier League matches

The English Premier League matches will be subject to suspension during the holy month of Ramadan, due to the fasting of Muslim players.

The blessed month of Ramadan begins on Wednesday or Thursday, and continues until April 20 or 21, when Muslims fast from food and drink from dawn until sunset.

The English Premier League witnesses the presence of many Muslim players who adhere to the ritual of fasting, such as the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, the Algerian Riyad Mahrez, the Manchester City star, and the Moroccan Hakim Ziyech, the Chelsea star.

And according to the British “Sky Sports” network, the Premier League warned the referees to allow the players to break their fast during the matches that will be held in the evening in Ramadan.
The referees will give the players the opportunity to drink water or soft drinks when it is time to break the fast, as clubs will be contacted before the matches to ensure that there are fasting players.
